No I'm not pregnant, I know many of you were expecting for this post to head in that direction but no. It is a little annoying that now that I am married I can't say anything without people being like "what are you pregnant?" Blah!
Although one of my best friends had a baby recently and I went a little crazy when I went baby clothes shopping. I walked into the Gymboree and everything was so cute! Why are baby things so cute? Don't even get me started on baby shoes, I think those are engineered to make women like me want to have a baby before they are ready just so they can buy the tiny shoes.
Anyways, as you guys know I have been working for a temp agency recently. I was working for a recruiter who was crazy busy and needed me to help her with recruiting people for a job. At one point I was working a full 40 hrs with her so that was a great way to get some office experience. The other plus was that I was able to also get out there and temp for other companies when I wasn't working for the recruiter. In My New Fictional Crush I talked a little bit about a company that I loved temping for. I got a call on Tuesday that this company was looking to temp to hire a receptionist and that's when super Mrs. Merle came to the rescue. So I have started working for this SUPER awesome company as a temp to hire receptionist with the hope that after a couple of months they will offer me the job full time. I can't say enough how much I love this place and I hope they have a place for me.
The most exciting thing about the new job is that I get to push the mail cart and deliver mail from cube to cube! I KNOW! Last night I couldn't sleep cause I kept having dreams of me delivering mail to the wrong person and I don't want to to through an embarrassing situation where I have to like "oh your not Bob, you are Rob" and then Rob thinks that I thought he was Bob because they are both orange skinned or ugly. Working at an office is hard, ya'll. My work shedule is actually pretty hardcore so I will probably continue to be pretty busy and not update as much as I used to when I was a bum.
Well friends off to the working world! From now on please call me Mrs. Merle super corporate receptionist.
That's great! Congrats! I wish I were in your shoes - I've been trying to get into HR so bad and working for a recruiter would be awesome... I know what you mean about always thinking "oh you're pregnant?!" annoying!! good luck!!
